Apparantly Nothing…

This blog was originally a way for me to record thoughts and process what I was thinking…hence the subtitle!  Apparently I have not been thinking nearly enough recently, or at least not in a manner that allows me to write and process the themes being thought about.  I promise to change, or at least try to change, so that this Blog can once again become a place where you, the reader, can get to know a little more about who I am, and who I am becoming with God’s Help.

For today, I will simply share some of the books that are filling my head with ideas recently so that you can have the option of reading along.  Most recently, I have started reading a series called, The Good and Beautiful God, Life & Community (3-Book Set) by James Bryan Smith.  I have barely cracked the surface so far, but they promise to be life changing, and may become my goto resource for people looking to have healthy souls.  Quotes like this one from the first book the Good and Beautiful God, are drawing me in:

Would you like to have abiding peace? Would you like to have a heart that is filled with love? Would you like to have the kind of faith that sees everything–even your failures and losses– in light of God’s governance for good?  Would you like to have the kind of hope that endures even in discouraging circumstances?

If this is the life you most deeply desire, then this book is meant for you.  A lot of people want to change and would answer yes to these questions, but many of them do not believe it is possible.  After years of trying and failing, they lead a christian life of quiet desperation, longing for change and yet certain it will never happen. So they sit in their pews each week, sighing, silently, resigned to their fate.

Yes that is me, but now I don’t want that last part.  Can’t wait to read what comes next.

I hope that you will come back soon and check on my progress.  Maybe if you check on me, it will help me to become more faithful and sharing my thoughts, and you are welcome to log in and share yours in the comment section as well.
